A publishing of a dissertation concept that interrogates the original artefact as an indexical device with latent possibilities that have the capacity to be exploited. Consequently, it exists as a self-referential object, with the singular original article being reproduced through a scan positioned in the centre of each spread. Transparency regarding the sourcing of information and modes of production also dictate the design in an effort to disclose the origins of the work. This is communicated through the retention of printer’s marks, a cover-less design, exposed binding and the appropriation of registration marks and colour bars as alternative navigational elements and pagination.
